How does it work?
askOLA is a safe, easy-to-use platform that improves your child’s comprehension and confidence with schoolwork. Your child can chat to a vetted subject expert on-demand about their schoolwork, homework, revision, or wellbeing.
We’re a cost-effective alternative to tutoring, a portable teaching assistant and a safe place to explore wellbeing concerns, all rolled into one flexible monthly subscription.
How we can support your child
- We motivate and coach your child to complete homework and revision, ensuring that they understand before the session ends.
- We take every opportunity to extend learning and challenge your child to make the most of each session.
- Support without limits! We don’t have time limits on sessions, and your child can log in as much as they need to from any device with internet access.
- We’re available when they need us – 3pm to 9pm during the week and 9am to 9pm at weekends.
We help your child to understand concepts and reach answers for themselves, resulting in better quality learning experiences and making them a more confident learner.

Wellbeing support
Alongside academic coaching, your child will also have access to anonymous, unrestricted, and immediate wellbeing support. CAHMS waiting lists are dangerously long, but through askOLA your child can access help when they need it, without the wait. Our mental health partners, Kooth, work with the NHS and are accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Using askOLA is as safe as being in school.
Safety
We work to uphold the same rigorous guidelines as any School or Multi-Academy Trust. We record all interactions with our OLAs, who are fully trained and vetted. We don’t use cameras or microphones in order to further ensure students safety. We are quality assured by Shireland Collegiate Academy, a leading Multi-Academy Trust.
