The term ‘askOLA’ or ‘us’ or ‘our’ or ‘we’ or ‘askOLA.io’ refers to the owner of the websites, whose registered office is The Foundry, 15 Yorke Street, Wrexham, LL13 8LW.

Why do we need a Fair Usage Policy?

askOLA is committed to providing our users with a very high-quality service at a price that reflects true value for money. Because of this, we operate a traffic prioritisation policy which safeguards the performance of our service. We carefully manage our capacity to ensure that enough capacity is provided while maintaining expected service levels.

However, as with all service offerings our platform is shared and if a schools users use a disproportionately large amount of bandwidth, then this will drive up the cost of supplying the service to all users and increase waiting times for users. Therefore, to ensure we can provide a high-quality service at a competitive price, a Fair Usage Policy applies to the use of the service.

How will this Fair Use policy affect you?

The users who will be affected by this policy are those who are on our “Out-Of-Hours” and “All Day, Every Day” packages. To keep service levels within our acceptable limits, we cap school concurrent usage to 15%. This means that if more than 15% of users from any schools access the service at the same time, users will be asked to join a queue.

Fair Use Policy for our Capped Products

Please note that the usage measurement period in this case is defined as number of registered students who are accessing the service within a one-hour period.

Fair Use Policy for our Unlimited package

For these services, there is no fair use policy. Usage must be in accordance with this Terms of Use
